Situated in the midst of some of the Koup Karoo best livestock farms, this particular 7285-hectare exciting and excellent economic viable farming enterprise has come available. It is located a mere 25-km from town and all the necessary infrastructures for a stock farm are in place. With the Swartberge as the Southern backdrop and the vast vistas to the Nuweveld Mountains in the North, the views and hues change by the hour. The scenery of the Dwyka valley and river with its abundance of green trees and ticket to the West is exceptional. The landscape is varied, and the topography includes rugged hills with deep plunging cliffs, ridges at the foothills and more rounded yet undulating hills, valleys and deep ravines and plains. Dry rivers, which only flow in the rainy season traverse the farm. Very few Karoo farms come close to the tranquillity and scenic setting of this farm. This pristine region welcomes true livestock and game farmers, or nature lovers with farming experience.The fauna and flora are typical of this type of topography and natural vegetation, making this farming enterprise perfect for natural livestock and/or game farming. It is sub-divided into 16 inner camps, all with adequate water supply from several windmills or solar pumps. When the camp layout and infrastructure were planned, the diverse veldt types, the topography and variety of vegetation were all taken into consideration. The perimeter fencing consists of sections of jackal-proof, 2,6 metre game fence as well as an electrified section. All are in good repair. At present the farming operation consists of 800 Dohne Merino sheep and minimum labour management is required. The vegetation on the plains is typical Karoo shrubs, wild pomegranate bushes and vygies, which bloom yellow and pink after the first rains, and various sweet grasses. The plateaus on the undulating hills are covered with quality grasses. The dry riverbanks are covered with prevalent wild olive (Olienhout), Karee (Karee) and sweet Acacia (Akasias) trees, together with thicket and taller shrubs. A special feature in one of the dry rivers is the 12-metre-high waterfall. Fossils were found in various spots. Various seasonal rivers run through the farm, increasing the carrying capacity substantially. The farm lends itself to the production of superb quality wool and meat. The carrying capacity is 1:36 LSU and can comfortably carry livestock like cattle, sheep, angoras, and goats, and it is also ideal for game farming. Several Kudus and 40 springbok roam the farm. A 6-hectare section is planted with ‘Wonderful’ pomegranates and is irrigated by sprinklers. A borehole with a capacity of 20,000 l/hour supply adequate water for irrigation. Another borehole supplies water for household purposes as well as the lush garden. There is a spacious 4-bedroom homestead with swimming pool. All the buildings are in good repair.
