Rajesh Hiralall Attorneys Inc. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Conveyancing Secretary to join our dynamic legal team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in property transfers, bond registrations, and general conveyancing procedures.
The role requires a highly organised individual with excellent administrative and communication skills to support our conveyancing attorneys and ensure the seamless processing of property transactions.
Key Responsibilities:
• Draft, process, and manage conveyancing documentation, including transfer and bond registration documents.
• Liaise with banks, Deeds Office, municipalities, estate agents, and clients to ensure the efficient progression of property transactions.
• Prepare and lodge transfer duty applications, rates clearance certificates, and other required documents.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all conveyancing matters.
• Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements for conveyancing transactions.
• Handle client queries professionally and provide updates on the status of transactions.
• Assist attorneys with administrative tasks, correspondence, and filing related to conveyancing.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Conveyancing Secretary in a legal practice.
• Knowledge of conveyancing processes, Deeds Office procedures, and bond registrations.
• Proficiency in conveyancing software (such as LexisConvey, E4, or similar).
• Strong administrative and organisational skills with a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
• Professional and client-focused attitude.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certificate or Diploma in Legal Studies, Conveyancing, or related field (advantageous).
• Experience working with multiple banks for bond registrations.
